At today's Housing Day event, Governor Martin O'Malley announced that full funding for Maryland's housing programs would be restored in the State's budget. He will add $6 million to the budget. Trudy, in her capacity as the Chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Maryland Affordable Housing Coalition, was responsible for leading the efforts to restore the funding and organizing Housing Day.

The Maryland Affordable Housing Coalition and 50 other organziations co-sponsored Housing Day.  The Coalition advocates for legislation to support more affordable housing in Maryland. Legislative initiatives under the leadership of Trudy McFall are HB 486, which establishes the framework for a Maryland Affordable Housing Investment Trust, and HB 784, which enables all jurisdictions within the State of Maryland to undertake affirmative actions to promote affordable housing.
